Marie Gluesenkamp Perez ran as a moderate Democrat, but her voting record demonstrates how out of step she is with the conservatives of Washington’s Third District. She votes in line with the Biden Administration’s radical agenda to increase inflation, weaken our national defense, and open our borders.
Marie cosponsored a fake “border security bill” that gives $66 billion to foreign countries and does nothing to stop illegal immigration or secure our border (118th Congress, H.R. 7372).
While our southern border is wide open to fentanyl, crime, and the cartels, Marie voted against the “Secure the Border Act” which would have enforced immigration laws, mandated completion of the border wall, and provided resources to Border Patrol agents (118th Congress, H.R. 2).
Marie voted for a bill that expands welfare, including for illegal aliens, while inflation is at an all-time high (118th Congress, H.R. 7024).
Marie voted against impeaching the DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for his role in worsening the border crisis (118th Congress, H. Res. 863). Mayorkas violated U.S. law and opened our border, enabling the cartels to traffic lethal drugs like fentanyl into the U.S. interior.
Marie voted against the Republican Bill which mandated that only U.S. citizens are counted in the census which directly impacts the allocation of U.S. house seats and electoral votes.

Marie voted against amendment No 35 in part B of The Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2025 (H.R. 8771) to prohibit funds made available by this Act from being obligated, expended, or otherwise made available to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
Marie has consistently sided with Biden’s climate agenda at the expense of her constituents. She voted against the “2024 Energy and Water Development Appropriations Bill” that rolled back Biden’s red tape, cut billions in Green New Deal Spending, and included funding for district projects (118th Congress, H.R. 4394). This bill repealed Biden’s Waters of the United States (WOTUS) regulations, which gave control of our waterways to bureaucrats and burdens ranchers, landowners, and farmers. This bill also provides funding for the Corp of Engineers, a group that is critical in mitigating flooding in the Third District.
Marie voted against the REINS Act, which would have returned power to the people by establishing a congressional approval process for a major rule imposed by federal agencies (118th Congress, H.R. 277). Instead of voting to repeal red tape that hurts local industries, Marie voted to give more power to federal agencies and the executive branch.
Marie voted in support of Biden’s waiver of “Buy America” requirements for electric vehicle chargers (118th Congress, S. J. Res. 38). Marie voted to support China instead of American manufacturing.
Marie voted against the “Limit, Save, Grow Act,” which saves $4.5 trillion and creates economic growth by prioritizing fiscal responsibility (118th Congress, H.R. 2811). Marie voted for H.R. 1 “Lower Energy Costs Act,” but that vote is meaningless because the Limit, Save, Grow Act would have put H.R. 1 into effect.
Marie voted to suspend the debt ceiling and authorize spending that is contributing to the record inflation stealing Americans’ wages.
The Biden Administration is pushing Environmental, Social, and Governance regulations on American retirement accounts, and Marie voted against blocking this rule (118th Congress, H.J. Res. 30).
Marie voted against a Farm Bill in the House Agricultural Committee that would prevent the CCP from buying farmland, ensure SNAP funding went toward nutritional food, and support bipartisan conservation programs, among other provisions (118th Congress, H.R. 8467). Four House Democrats voted with Republicans to help American farmers and families, but Marie was not one of them.
Marie sided yet again with Biden economic policies. Marie wants to impose government-mandated price controls which have historically caused: costly shortages, low quality goods, inefficiently allocated goods & services, misallocated resources, and wasted products & goods.
Marie voted to allow biological males to participate in female sports and access women’s and girls’ locker rooms and bathrooms (118th Congress, H.R. 734). Marie voted against protecting women and girls from biological males.

Marie voted against the “Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act,” which mandates that doctors provide care for survivors of abortion and protect babies born alive (118th Congress, H.R. 26).
Marie voted against the Jackson/Roy Amendment to the NDAA, which would have prohibited taxpayer funds from paying for abortion-related expenses in the military (118th Congress, H.R. 2670).
Marie voted against the “Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act,” which ensures crisis pregnancy centers receive essential funding to deliver medical care and support to pregnant women (118th Congress, H.R. 6918).
Marie voted for the Fiscal Year 2024 NDAA, which does not sufficiently protect our national security but instead funds a Pentagon that promotes woke racial policies and sex reassignment surgeries (118th Congress, H.R. 2670). It also includes a provision to expand the warrantless FISA surveillance of Americans.

In July, Marie voted against fully funding the Department of Veterans Affairs (V.A.) along with every other House Democrat (118th Congress, H.R. 4366). She previously claimed that we needed a “fully funded V.A. dedicated to serving veterans first,” but this proved to be a lie. Marie would not cross party lines to ensure our nation’s veterans receive the healthcare they deserve.

Marie campaigned on being a working-class Democrat who refuses corporate PAC donations – but that was a lie. She receives corporate PAC money routed through other PACs. This includes the Blue Dog PAC, which accepts donations from pharmaceutical companies and defense contractors.
